Accommodation
Teruel is a small, walkable city with sufficient hotel infrastructure across a wide range of prices.
We strongly recommend booking accommodation as early as possible to reduce costs and ensure availability.
We also recommend choosing rooms with bed and breakfast included, as this is usually the most convenient option.
Teruel offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants for dinner.
Trying tapas in local bars is often the most typical and enjoyable option.
Please note that most restaurants do not serve dinner before 21:00, which is standard in Spain, especially in areas with less international tourism.

General information for international participants
- Spain is a safe and welcoming country for international visitors. Citizens of the EU, Schengen Area and many other countries do not require a visa for short stays; participants who need a visa should apply early and request an official invitation letter from the organisation if required. Spain uses the euro (€) as its official currency, and credit/debit cards are widely accepted. Cash machines (ATMs) are available in both Soria and Teruel. Tap water is safe to drink, and healthcare services are of high quality. All international participants must ensure they travel with valid medical insurance covering healthcare assistance during their stay in Spain, as this is essential for non‑EU visitors and strongly recommended for all attendees.
- Spain operates on 230V / 50Hz electricity (formerly referred to as 220V), with Type F plugs. Most modern electronic devices support 220–240V, but visitors from countries using 110–120V should check voltage compatibility. Shops typically open from 09:30 to 20:30, with a lunch break in smaller towns; supermarkets and pharmacies have extended hours.
The congress will take place from 12 to 17 April 2027, a period that usually brings mild spring weather in Teruel. However, the city is located at over 1,000 metres above sea level, which means that even in April, evening and night temperatures can be low. Participants are advised to bring warm clothing, especially for field visits and outdoor activities. - Local public transport is reliable, and both cities are walkable, with taxis readily available. Spain’s emergency number is 112, which provides assistance in multiple languages.
